Brain MRI / Oral Steroids

Throughout the next couple of weeks I continued the oral steroids but they provided no change. I also did a brain MRI which showed some bright spots on my right side near the brain stem, but were later dismissed as “inflammation” at my next ENT follow up. At that point I had researched all possible causes for the sudden deafness and the accompanying symptoms and an acoustic tumor would have been a logical cause and with a straight forward intervention, restoring some hearing after removal. But this was not the case here. The remaining causes included auto-immune disorders, Lyme, virus or stroke. After ruling out the tumor we became less focused on the cause and more focused on preserving any hearing and reducing the tinnitus. After an unsuccessful attempt with oral steroids the next step would be injections.
